About Us
What We Do

Have Derby, Will Travel is a full-service consulting firm advising roller derby leagues, non-profit organizations and for profit DIY, grassroots businesses. Utilizing our functional knowledge and industry experience, we help owners and leaders make substantial improvements to their organizations with our willingness to tackle and address difficult issues and challenges.

Hurt Reynolds (Chris Seale), Mercy Less (Kris Seale), and Lorna Boom (Alyssa Hoppe) have over 15 years of combined league building and management experience in modern flat-track roller derby. Our unique experience makes us a virtual derby think-tank, and we have all spent years coaching leagues, their leadership, and skaters in growth and change, out of love for the sport and its grassroots, DIY culture. Years of volunteering for our home leagues, other leagues, and organizations, including WFTDA, has given us a comprehensive knowledge of all things league related.

We each bring a specialized and complimentary skill set to the table, creating what we like to call "Whole League Services" and our derby community network is unparalleled. When appropriate, Have Derby, Will Travel will subcontract other industry experts to bring you the most knowledgeable assistance available.

He spent most of 2007 traveling, observing, and assisting leagues from coast to coast, while documenting his experiences at havederbywilltravel.com. Today, he’s a Duke City Derby hanger-on-er, a DNN partner, and manager of the Derbymatic bout database project.

Kristin "Mercy Less" Seale

As a WFTDA representative, Mercy served as Chair of Marketing/PR for over 2 years, and was responsible for the historic return of roller derby bouts to television, the inking of a roller derby video game deal, and some high profile coverage of roller derby in the press. Additionally, she served on the WFTDA Board of Directors for 18 months, 1 year of which was as the organization's Treasurer. Mercy headed up RollerCon Media efforts in 2007 and 2008 and she currently reports, manages marketing and produces broadcasts for Derby News Network. As a professional in film and television for over a decade, as well as an entrepreneur, Mercy has been able to marry that experience to derby endeavors, and is excited to bring that derby experience to back small business!
